I'm totally in love with this fabric from Designers Guild. It's called Petticoat Lane in Sherbet and part of the Primrose Hill collection. The fabric is available at Nostalgie im Kinderzimmer - a German online shop and real store (yay!) in Munich that carries lovely things for kids & grown-ups like furniture, toys, textiles and home decor knick knacks from major brands like Cath Kidston, GreenGate, Lexington, PiP Stuido, Rice, Spiegelburg and many others. I can't wait to visit the store on our day trip to Munich next week. Any other shopping recommendations for Munich?

These days I'm terribly in love with the home of Kathrin from www.whereyourheartis.net. Kathrin works as software developer and lives with her boyfriend and her four bunnies in Karlsruhe, in South-West Germany. She loves decorating, sewing and crocheting and has a huge weakness for old furniture. Most of the unique pieces in her home are from ebay or from the bulk garbage (can you believe!). She gives them a new coat of paint (or several as necessary) and a second life in her lovely home. Kathrin has a great sense for style and decoration and is not afraid to use bold colors to paint her furniture — which I love. Isn't the red cabinet below is just plain a-w-e-s-o-m-e? Be sure to check out her blog and her Flickr stream .

Dear storksak! Don't you want to sponsor my blog and send over one of your pretty Retro Dot Red Bags? ;-) I love both of them so much and can't decide if I should add the Kate Retro Dot Red or the Suzi Retro Dot Red to my wishlist for 2010. Or you could also send over both of them and I'll do some extensive testing and write a little review here on my blog...Deal?!

Secret Blog Santa

I took part in this year's last year's Secret Blog Santa (Weihnachtswichteln) organized by Caro from sodapop and Nadine from anmutig. I know I'm terribly late with posting my Secret Santa presents (sorry for that!) but I got a nasty cold right before Christmas and I decided that it's time to take some time off. I spend quite some time on the couch trying to recover or I was running errands and getting some last-minute christmas presents. Most of the days I didn't even turn on the computer...and I have to admit I didn't even miss it as much as I thought I would. I felt much more inspired by not looking at all those inpirations online every day and even started carving some rubber stamps. I didn't feel very inspired throughout the last year but I hope to do more with my hand again this year.

Well, anyway, I wanted to share my Secret Santa presents. On Christmas Day I picked up my Secret Santa package from the post office. I received all these awesome things from from Trine. Just look at the cute pin cushion and the lovely fabric ornament she made herself. Aren't those pretty? And she also sent me the cute wooden deer stamp with an ink pad. Thank you so much, Trine. I love everything! And thank you Caro and Nadine for organizing everything. I can't wait for the Secret Blog Santa 2010!
